Snorkel and explore the Island with a subsidised ferry ticket!

Ever wondered what lives under the water at Motuora Island in the Hauraki Gulf/Tikapa Moana/Te Moananui ā toi? Join Experiencing Marine Reserves for a snorkel with our experienced guides and get FREE mask, snorkel, fins & wetsuit hire. Ferry tickets are $25 each + a booking fee. Safe fun for the whole whānau!
See schools or sweep and parore, red moki, snapper, spotties and more!

When: Saturday 2nd December 2023
Ferry leaves from Sandspit at 9.00am. You need to arrive at the Sandspit Wharf building by 8:30am at the latest.

What: Snorkelling at Little Prince Bay (weather dependent), walks around the pest free island and BYO picnic lunch on the beach!

Where: Motuora Island, ferry is departing from Sandspit Wharf.
Parking: Paid parking is available at Sandspit Wharf

What to bring: Togs, towel, sunhat, warm clothes, raincoat, water bottles, walking shoes, a picnic lunch.

Suitable for children aged 8 and above. However please note it is a long day. Reasonable level of fitness is require as there is a 30min walk to the snorkel site with some steep hills.

This event is sponsored by The Bobby Stafford-Bush Foundation, and Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa. It is run with the assistance of the Department of Conservation.

Please note that the ferry ticket is non-refundable - and the trip will run rain or shine! Our snorkel location will be Little Princes Bay or Home beach – Dependent on the weather.

If you are late and miss the ferry unfortunately there are no refunds. Please make sure to read the information sheet linked below before registering.
