Have you have fished for crayfish, currently or in the past? Legasea wants to hear your views on the state of crayfish numbers (red rock lobster not packhorse) around Northland, the area marked CRA 1 below.

The Northland red (spiny) rock lobster fishery extends from the Kaipara Harbour on the west coast, around Cape Reinga and south to Te Arai Point. In management terms it's called CRA 1.
Yesterday Fisheries New Zealand issued proposals for the future management of CRA 1. They want submissions but the response period is limited, closing on 8 February.
